Toshiba Tecra A9

The Tecra A9 is a Toshiba notebook series. The A9 Toshiba laptop was the last laptop part of the first generation of laptops (from the alphabetic series) launched within the Toshiba Tecra series (after 2001). It was the direct successor of Toshiba Tecra A8. Although it was not developed as a back-to-back product, in comparison with Tecra 500CDT, and Tecra 510CDT, the A8 was by far a stand-alone product, since Toshiba delivered the A9 notebooks within five different configurations. The A9 was also the ninth product in line released in the first generation alphabetic Tecra series (after 2001). The Tecra A9 was not succeeded by any direct successors. However, the A9 was succeeded by the second alphabetic Tecra series, the Tecra M series. Until a certain technological level, the Tecra A9 shares hardware and software features with several notebooks within the first third numeric Tecra series, such as Tecra 8200, Tecra 9100, and also within the first alphabetic Tecra series, such as Toshiba Tecra A10, Toshiba Tecra A2, Toshiba Tecra A3, Toshiba Tecra A3X, Toshiba Tecra A4, Toshiba Tecra A5, Toshiba Tecra A7, and Toshiba Tecra A8. The Tecra A9 series included the main features of the Tecra notebook series, such as high performances when running business applications on a medium level notebook. However, hardware features, including the processor, the system memory, the display and even hard disk capacity, were strictly depending upon the configurations available within the Tecra A9 series. The A9 was conventionally linked by Toshiba with the statement Impressive business performance. The Tecra A series included several other notebooks, such as Toshiba Tecra A10, Toshiba Tecra A2, Toshiba Tecra A3, Toshiba Tecra A3X, Toshiba Tecra A4, Toshiba Tecra A5, Toshiba Tecra A7, and Toshiba Tecra A8.
Depending on the location, the Tecra A9 series included several Tecra A9 notebook configurations, such as Tecra A9-12P, Tecra A9-12T, Tecra A9-146, Tecra A9-15U, and Tecra A9-51E. Other Tecra A9 configurations were available on specific regions (North and South America, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, and Asia-Pacific region) and were not available worldwide.

Tecra Series

Toshiba Tecra is Toshiba’s laptop series designed for business performances. Toshiba currently markets the Tecra series as performance laptops that mean serious business. Although the Satellite series and the Satellite Pro series feature several notebook models, the Tecra series currently includes three notebook models. However, the number of notebooks in the Tecra series is strictly dependent on the location, North and South America, Europe, Africa and South Africa region, Middle East or Asia-Pacific region.

Tecra A9

The Tecra A9 series was released last within the first generation alphabetic Tecra series (after 2001), after Tecra 8200, Tecra 9100, Toshiba Tecra A10, Toshiba Tecra A2, Toshiba Tecra A3, Toshiba Tecra A3X, Toshiba Tecra A4, Toshiba Tecra A5, Toshiba Tecra A7, and Toshiba Tecra A8. Therefore, the A9 benefited from its predecessor success. From the technological point of view, the Tecra A9 lacked the back-to-back product usually branded by Toshiba either CS or CDS. However, the Tecra A9 series included five laptop configurations, Tecra A9-12P, Tecra A9-12T, Tecra A9-146, Tecra A9-15U, and Tecra A9-51E. The Tecra A9 borrowed the mission started by Satellite 100CS, improving the balance between high performances (courtesy of the Intel processors, improved hard disk capacity than previous Tecra notebooks, integrated AC adapter, and ergonomic design) and entry-level prices.
